Company CV: Peoples in Pieces

Artistic outline

Peoples in Pieces make work that falls between the disciplines of live art and experimental theatre.
We are an emerging performance company based in Bristol and are interested in developing work, which questions and explores the range of possibilities between audience-performer relationships. We work collaboratively to devise our performances. The core of our process is a laboratory in which we experiment and welcome others to respond to our works in progress.
Our pieces are visually driven and attempt to acknowledge the different contexts they encounter.

Company history and members

Peoples in Pieces were formed in spring 2006 in Dartington College of Arts

Jo Bannon has created performances introducing risk and failure to the performer in an attempt to heighten intimacy with the spectator. Past projects have also included a context driven exploration of London using the format of the Monopoly game.

Birgit Binder set up You and Your Work performance platform in Bristol and apart from Peoples in Pieces she creates works in public drawing on DIY sport and outdoor activities.

Becky Hall has worked as an independent artist directorially and her particular interests are based around sensory perception, the use of magic and implications of the collective in performance.

Scott Harris forms experiments in performance through introducing site and context specific work to new audiences and communities. In his past work he explored the effect of duress on the performer’s presence.
