We work collaboratively to devise our performances. The core of our process is a laboratory in which we experiment and welcome others to respond to our works in progress.
Our pieces are visually driven and attempt to acknowledge the different contexts they encounter.

Company history and members

Peoples in Pieces were formed in spring 2006 in Dartington College of Arts

Jo Bannon has created performances introducing risk and failure to the performer in an attempt to heighten intimacy with the spectator. Past projects have also included a context driven exploration of London using the format of the Monopoly game.

Birgit Binder set up You and Your Work performance platform in Bristol and apart from Peoples in Pieces she creates works in public drawing on DIY sport and outdoor activities.

Becky Hall has worked as an independent artist directorially and her particular interests are based around sensory perception, the use of magic and implications of the collective in performance.

Scott Harris forms experiments in performance through introducing site and context specific work to new audiences and communities. In his past work he explored the effect of duress on the performer’s presence.

Performance work

Of Halos and Subsun
Our first performance work, which has been selected for performance at

Presence 06, Dartington College of Arts, Totnes
22nd - 23rd of June 06,

AntiStatic 06, The Brewhouse, Taunton
23rd September 06, (http://www.hotshed.net//antistatic)

Experimentica 06, Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff
7th October 06, (http://www.chapter.org//experimentica)

Mayfest 07, Bristol Old Vic, Bristol
8th May 07

OutNow Festival, Schwankhalle, Bremen, Germany
9th June 07

The Graduates, BAC, London
13th July 07

15 Storms in a Teacup
Performance work selected for performance at:

Im Your Worst Nightmare, Performance platform,
work in progress showing
Arnolfini, Bristol
17th March 07

Talent Fatory, Tobacco Factory, Bristol
22nd Oct 07

In April 07 Peoples in Pieces were made Associate artists of Arnolfini, Bristol and were commissioned to continue making 15 Storms in a Teacup for inclusion in Live Art Weekender:

Good Shit from Bristol
12th Jan 08

Margate Rocks, Art and Ecology Festival, Margate (Kent)
11th of May 08

Sprint Festival, Camden Peoples Theatre, London
5th,6th of June 08

Live Art Falmouth
7th of June 08

Titanic: Exercises in sinking is another work produced by Peoples in Pieces and is based around a series of task based experiments which exist in the forms of live event and video.

For further information please get in touch with us via
email: peoplesinpieces at hotmail.co.uk
